How do you feel about sending thank you cards to Casting Directors?

I think thanking anyone for the demanding work they do in entertainment is often overlooked and highly valuable! If the CD has a commercial office space, sending a thank you note after a casting or callback is fine. (Wise talent have postcards printed to brand their marketing materials and increase exposure.) Keeping it short, simple, and sincere is best.
If the CD works out of a private space such as their home, a card could be considered intrusive. Should that be the case, focus on building a positive relationship over time and wait for an appropriate chance to ask for the address where you can send a thank you note. Don't try to evade your reason - surprises aren't always good.
