Most markets have a season in any line of work. Acting and modeling follow suit! Knowing the market where you are living or working can be valuable when planning travel and scheduling major events.
After watching the date trends for a 3-5 year period, you may notice that you seem to have the most opportunity in the winter months or perhaps you book most often in the summer. Speculating about the reasons why that might be could be helpful, but may not be within your control. Knowing which times of year tend to be most lucrative is important to your whole team and will help you make yourself available for continuing to build a prosperous career!
Your busiest times of year may also depend on your demographic and age. For example, Miami may be popular in the winter for the swimsuit models, but the child on camera division may stay busiest in the summer. (This is speculation; not fact.) As you grow and change physically, watch the trends change with you and remember to be flexible.
Trends may change as you age or your skill set changes. Knowing the trends and using them to your advantage is part of growing your business. It’s also encouraging to watch the type of work you book grow with your skill set. Knowing your hard work is paying off and seeing it physically on paper over a period of time is a great way to keep positive in those slow months, too.
Do you know what months or seasons are busiest for you?
