When was the last time you used your imagination? For many of us, we haven’t truly used our imaginations since we were kids, before we started hearing “that’s a dumb idea” or simply, “no”. Jenna Phillips, certified holistic lifestyle coach, gives this advice on tapping back into your inner child:
You’ve seen motivational speakers, successful musicians, daring inventors, god-like athletes and innovative companies all achieve their dreams. So, how did they do it? They kept their hearts in the game. They came up with new ways to represent themselves. They didn’t try – they DID. They never gave up. They didn’t quit. They didn’t let someone else’s closed-mindedness dilute their vision. They didn’t let a near death experience or a diagnosis of a disease define them.
They decided, “If it’s to be, it’s up to me!” They kept going and going and going until they couldn’t go anymore. And then they kept on going! Busta Rhymes once said in an interview, “I owe all my success to having no plan B. No other plan of survival. Failure is not an option.” That has become one of my favorite quotes of all time.
The genius we all know as Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” When people “know too much” they can sometimes analyze all the reasons why something won’t work. How boring is that?
So go out and achieve your dreams! Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t or won’t make it in this business, because it’s only up to YOU! Where will your imagination take you?
